Spark is a pioneering homegrown web app that embraces an innovative approach to student success technology – one that empowers students with personalized behavioral analytics to make informed decisions about attaining their personal goals while improving access to campus services through data-driven targeting. This session will argue for the necessity of this approach in serving today's students at scale and fulfilling the promise of a university degree. We'll cover Spark's philosophy, design, and how the emergence of a collaborative campus data sharing culture was a prerequisite for its development. You’ll leave understanding how user-centered design, outreach, coalition building, governance, and an entrepreneurial approach to iteration can help overcome traditional barriers through collaboration, as they did for this innovative tool. While all are welcome, it is particularly relevant for product and project managers, IT and functional leaders, and those in the student success space.
