Getting to Riverside

From fast and convenient routes to relaxed and scenic drives, there are several ways to get to Riverside.

AIRPLANE

There are six airports you may fly into. We highly recommend you to fly into ONT, as it is the closest major airport to Riverside, and traffic from other airports may increase travel time by several hours.

Ontario International Airport (ONT) - 20 miles northwest
San Bernardino Airport (SBA) - 13 miles northeast
John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA) - 45 miles southwest
Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) - 60 miles east
Long Beach Airport (LGB) - 60 miles east
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - 70 miles west

TRAIN

Take the scenic route to Riverside by train, where you can experience rolling hills, urban landscapes, and coastal views through panoramic windows. This is a great option for those who want a more relaxed travel experience with spacious seating and larger storage areas (including bikes). These trains provide several amenities, including Wi-Fi, electrical outlets, onboard entertainment, and dining services.

Metrolink is SoCal's regional rail system linking Riverside county to Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura counties. Both of our conference venues are located near the following stations:

Amtrak is a nation-wide passenger rail system, offering services across California.

BUS

The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) is our local public transportation system, connecting Riverside and surrounding communities. Those who ride the Metrolink can transfer to an RTA bus and get dropped off nearby to our conference venues via the following routes:

From Riverside - Downtown Riverside (Metrolink station): RTA Route 1
From Hunter Park/UCR (Metrolink station): RTA Route 56

If you are outside of Riverside, FlixBus has bus routes stopping at UC Riverside Lot 30 from longer distance destinations.

Getting Around Riverside & Beyond

If you are staying in the Downtown Riverside, you will be able to walk to several notable arts and cultural destinations. The city also offers a few transportation options to help you get around easily.

Rideshare

The most convenient travel option, and our recommendation to get across the city, will be rideshare services such as Lyft and Uber. Download their apps and get rides within minutes!
Bus

The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) buses connect Riverside to the surrounding communities, UC Riverside campus, as well as the Riverside – Downtown Riverside and Riverside – Hunter Park/UCR Metrolink stations.
Bike
Consider biking as an inexpensive and environmentally-friendly commute choice! Riverside offers a variety of trails for transportation needs and recreational purposes. UC Riverside's campus is also a bronze level Bicycle Friendly University, designated by the League of American Bicyclists.
