Our institution fosters a campus wide data culture through MAPSS (Metrics & Analytics Promoting Student Success) and DataGPS Certificate programs, recognized as EDUCAUSE Horizon Report 2025 exemplars in Critical Digital Literacy. These initiatives develop technically adept, continuous learners among staff, faculty, and leadership through specialized tracks, business intelligence courses, and community forums. MAPSS combines data analytics with neuroscience-informed teaching to build data-savvy professionals.

Spark is a pioneering homegrown web app that embraces an innovative approach to student success technology – one that empowers students with personalized behavioral analytics to make informed decisions about attaining their personal goals while improving access to campus services through data-driven targeting. This session will argue for the necessity of this approach in serving today's students at scale and fulfilling the promise of a university degree.

Our Instructional Design and Technology team was tasked with tracking learning objective achievement in Extension courses to support WASC accreditation. Canvas offers an "Outcomes" feature, but WASC also requires instructors to reflect on how their course design supports student success. While staff could help instructors brainstorm improvements, a more scalable method was needed.

Our institution caters to a diverse student body, encompassing secondary, undergraduate, and professional learners, both domestically and internationally. We employ varied pedagogical modalities to address the unique needs of our students. Asynchronous online learning, in particular, offers significant flexibility for working professionals navigating demanding schedules. However, this modality can present challenges in providing timely instructor support.

Making a video doesn't have to be hard! Proper planning and an understanding of which tools to use will help to make the creation process much easier. This session will illustrate the planning process of making a video as well as creating a script, providing software suggestions and providing access to example videos.

Our institution's IT department has launched an innovative AWS Credits Portal, revolutionizing student access to cloud computing resources.

We’ve developed a novel AI tool that creates course-specific, instructor-guided AI interactions, setting a new standard for responsible AI integration in higher ed. Key Features and Impact: Tailored learning: Instructors upload course materials for relevant AI interactions Improved academic integrity: Provides a sanctioned, course-specific AI tool Instructor empowerment: Allows guided AI integration in teaching Collaborative approach: Fosters student-instructor AI utilization Our pilot demonstrated significant engagement, with 5-10 AI conversations per assignment.

This session will showcase how our department identifies, explores, and evaluates emerging technologies that support effective teaching and learning. Our department regularly pilots academic technology tools hosted by third-party vendors, so we developed a comprehensive guide to streamline and navigate through the piloting process. Join us as we walk through the guide, covering key aspects such as establishing scope, developing timelines and milestones, identifying risks and mitigations, creating a communications plan, conducting assessments, and defining success metrics.

Recognizing that participation and engagement are indispensable components of successful teaching and learning, this project endeavors to enhance engagement while encouraging participation. To achieve this, I have woven gamification into the fabric of my library instructional research sessions, which assists students with comprehending the learning outcomes for the session. In my gamified library session, students are encouraged to download a digital BINGO card that encapsulates the content requested to be covered by the instructor during the presentation.

Active learning in makerspaces extends beyond the process and product of making. Encouraging students to document the process of making and showcase the product of making offers an opportunity to reinforce active learning.
