ChatGSPP is an AI-powered chatbot developed by the Goldman School of Public Policy that intelligently navigates information about our faculty, staff, programs, and research initiatives. This interactive demo will showcase how we've implemented a conversational interface that analyzes user queries, retrieves appropriate content from our existing web resources, and delivers responses with proper source attribution.

In this discussion, we will provide an overview of the Sunapsis platform and introduce the background of the Sunapsis project at UCSD. We will then cover the project outline, including system configuration and data integration, as well as the challenges we have overcome. Additionally, we will highlight the accomplishments achieved so far.

This session will walk through an AI use case where we needed to deliver a course demand prediction model in 5 weeks. We iterated quickly using one week agile sprints and used Google Cloud tools to accomplish this deliverable. We'll discuss the technical details of the data used in the model, GCP services used, and the end user data & results that we provided.

Our team needed to integrate diverse data streams to dynamically identify patients at risk and proactively distribute tailored resources to empower them to protect their respiratory health. Our team needed to identify when high risk patients with respiratory conditions were experiencing poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke. We worked collaboratively with clinical subject matter experts (SME) to define the appropriate target patient population and air quality thresholds.

Web accessibility remains challenging, especially in education, where resources are limited. This presentation explores how component libraries can streamline accessible development by embedding Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) into reusable UI elements. This “trickle-down accessibility” approach ensures that student developers build inclusive websites without extensive accessibility training. By integrating accessibility directly into development workflows, teams can reduce manual audits and improve project consistency.
